It is estimated that 600 million people in India are with little or no access to healthcare, many of them in rural locations. The cost of care is also keeping them from getting proper treatment, or any treatment at all.

This medical check-up programme enables a qualified doctor to visit Rupamari island twice a year to examine and treat the school children and their families.

Fundraising for this new programme commenced in January 2017, and in November 2017 a team from the UK visited the school and witnessed the Doctor’s first visit to the children. It was wonderful to see the rapport he struck up with the children as he examined each child thoroughly and treated ailments ranging from malnutrition to gastrointestinal problems and scurvy with the necessary vitamins and antibiotics. He then carefully instructed the parents how to administer the medication to their child.

With your help we can maintain this vital service and see it grow.

£250 covers the cost of a qualified doctor examining and treating the children with the necessary medication.
