Child Rescue Report

As you are aware, in January we were able to see the rescue of 13 children from child slavery and prostitution. This was the outcome of your generous support and donations. All these children have been given a better place to live in orphanages where Christian principles are taught. They are slowly beginning to heal, emotionally and physically.

Our Lent Appeal was to secure the release of a further five innocent girls aged 11-16 years. These girls were forced to perform prostitution at night, and in the morning, they had to work in houses as slaves. Samuel Joshua was given just 6 – 8 weeks to provide the money for their release. We are overjoyed to be able to tell you that they have now received their freedom and their lives have been saved (pictured above). We praise God for His provision through your prayers and generous donations.

Here are some of the freed children’s messages to us all.

In slavery

“We did not think we would have a bright future, but some of our mothers used to take us to church and told us about Jesus. In the quarry we used to say a little prayer to Jesus to care for us. We do not know where you are in the world but you have rescued us from slavery. We are so happy that we have now got a better world and a better place to live in, otherwise we would be dead in a couple of years time. Every night we suffered with breathing problems and the people who purchased us would not buy us medicines or take us to hospital. We thank you so much. You are our parents from God.”

Studying

“When our parents did not care, someone from world came to care for us. Jesus sent you from Heaven through Pastor Joshua. We do not even know your names and we do not see you, but when we prayed we know He has given us a better life. I want to become a doctor now and hope Jesus can hear this little prayer. I will study well and become a doctor to help others. We know there are many children like us, and we are also praying Jesus would send someone to them like He did for us. We thank you so much.”

Free!

“The problems we three girls faced are unimaginable. When our monthly bleeding came the mob would not allow us to stay and rest. We were having serious health problems, but we were still made to beg, roam on streets and given only a piece of bread. We often thought of committing suicide. We are angry towards our parents, but Jesus sent us parents from heaven in the form of you, from a world we do not even know. Our pain and prayers only Jesus heard. We do not see your faces, but we pray that the Lord will bless you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We have a better place to live and a better life where we are given all things, and we are also receiving treatment. If you were here in India we could have hugged you and thanked you and that would give us much comfort for the better life you have given us.”

Swetha
“I want to become a police officer”

“What can I say? I thank you from my heart because now I have a better life. Every night was a pain in my life and when I was rescued from that great bondage and pain, my heart was so happy. It is like I got the victory over my battle, because Jesus sent you. I heard that Jesus has angels, and he sent angels in the form of you. I do not know much about the Bible, but now I have been given a Bible I will know much more about Jesus. I know you are on the other side of the world, but Samuel Joshua told us that it is because of your support we are released, and we truly and sincerely thank you for your practical support and showing the love of Jesus to us. I want to become a police officer and see that the problems I faced would not be faced by any other girl in my village. Please pray for my bright future.”

Madhavi
A better life

“Thank you, Vision for Asia, for rescuing us through Pastor Joshua. Twice I escaped and ran on the road for 4 kilometers, but my mob found me and they beat me for three days and also burnt my hand which pained me a lot. With that hand I was made to beg on the streets and I cried a lot. You did not know my pain, but Jesus had seen my pain and sent you to rescue me. If Samuel Joshua had not met us we could not have a better life, but now I am being educated and given a good life. There are millions of boys like me, so when I become big I want to become a social worker and help them. Please pray for me because I have chest congestion and many breathing problems. I have been given antibiotics and an inhaler. Thank you so much for caring for me. I will never forget you in all of my life.”

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1-3)

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all.

In our Father’s love,
